Many Christians will be celebrating Easter in a few weeks. But whose birth, death and
resurrection does it really represent? Is an Easter sunrise service found in the bible? Is Lent
scriptural? For the answer to all of these questions, let’s turn to scripture.
Eze 8:14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of YHWH's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
Notice in verse 14, we find women weeping for Tammuz. Who was Tammuz? He was the son of
Nimrod, a mighty hunter in the face of YHWH. He was the founder of Babylon. The
Babylonians, in their literature, claim that Bel (Baal) was the founder of Babylon. Many
scholars think that Nimrod was Bel. Nimrod was the grandson of Ham. He married a
woman by the name of Semiramis. It is thought he met a violent end and ascended into
heaven. He was deified as the sun god and impregnated his wife by the rays of the sun. The
male child that was born was called Tammuz. Semiramis considered her son to be her reincarnated
husband Nimrod, so she married her son. Semiramis also died and ascended to
heaven, but was considered too pure to remain there so was sent back to earth in a giant egg
that landed in the middle of the Euphrates river. As she burst forth from the egg, the first
thing she did was change a bird into an egg laying rabbit (Easter eggs). She was known by
various names to different nations. She was known as Ishtar, Ashtarte, Astarte, Ashtoreth,
Aphrodite, Demeter, Athena, Venus, Isis, Rhea, Ma and the mother of god, among others.
Tammuz was regarded as a sun god, but was killed in his 40th year by a wild boar. So, the
women in various cultures wept for him under different names, Tammuz by the Chaldeans,
Bacchus by the Greeks, Adonis by the Phoenicians, Osiris by the Egyptians and Mithras by
the Romans and Persians. This weeping was for a period of 40 days, each day representing
one year of his life. Then the weeping would turn to joy on Easter morning at sunrise when
Tammuz was to be resurrected. The 40 days of weeping for Tammuz is now referred to as
“Lent”.
Eze 8:15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
Eze 8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of YHWH's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of YHWH, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of YHWH, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
Is there any denying that this was an Easter sunrise service as we see the same thing played out
year after year in the churches? Immediately after Lent, Easter morning follows in which
“Christ” is believed to have been resurrected. We can readily see that Easter was an ancient
celebration long before the birth of Yahshua. It has nothing at all to do with his death and
resurrection, but everything to do with the death and resurrection of the sun god. Easter is a
pagan festival and every sun god is represented by Satan. So who is truly being worshiped on
Easter morning at a sunrise service?
Let’s return to Ezekiel as there is more to the story.
Eze 8:17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
Eze 8:18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and
though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
Remember, originally there was no chapter or verse numbers in scripture. These were later
added by the Catholics to make it easier to find things. But in doing so, false divisions were often
created. So let’s continue to read on into chapter 9 for the rest of the story.
Eze 9:1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
Eze 9:2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.
Eze 9:3 And the glory of the Elohim of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;
Eze 9:4 And YHWH said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
Eze 9:5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
Eze 9:6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near
any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men
which were before the house.
Eze 9:7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
Eze 9:8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah, Master YHWH! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
Eze 9:9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, YHWH hath forsaken the earth, and YHWH seeth not.
Eze 9:10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
Eze 9:11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the
matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
So it doesn’t appear that our Father appreciates the celebrating of the Pagan feast of Easter and
attributing it to the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of His son. We know that the true
resurrection of Yahshua, the Messiah, took place on Passover, not Easter.
How did this abomination come about? From historical records, we find that it was declared by
Constantine at the Nicene Council in 325 CE to be observed instead of Passover. Death was the
punishment for anyone caught observing Passover. He also changed the weekly Sabbath to
Sunday at that time and also made the keeping of Sabbath a crime punishable by death.
We are cautioned many times in scripture not to mix the holy with the profane and the clean
with the unclean. By observing a pagan festival and attributing it to YHWH’s own son is an
abomination to Him. The Hebrew word for abomination is “to‛ebah” is the strongest word in Hebrew to indicate utter hatred or disgust for something.
Now that we know that YHWH utterly hates the pagan feast of Easter, wouldn’t it be prudent to
be more respectful to our Father and to repent for our ever having participated in this unholy
event? Do you want the special mark upon your forehead for abhorring and lamenting about the pagan practice of Easter? Do you think you will receive this mark if you continue to participate in this abominable feast?
